Tilly Murphy, also known as FRITZ, has recently signed to Inertia Music and has just released her first single for said label. Titled Arrow it’s a fuzzy guitar-led pop song and deals with looking back at previous relationships, the resulting heartbreak and what came out of them whether positive or negative. Newcastle based (that’s Australia and not in the North East of England) Murphy also produced her first video, which was made during the recent lockdown, to accompany the song. The sun has gone in and it’s p*ssing it down in London Town. Time to get stuck into more tunes resting on top of my digital back pile. Fowl Science hail from Toronto and, judging by the lack of anything else listed, The Flowering Eye is their debut release. The song is a catchy mix of shoegaze, alt-rock and post-punk. The synths give the song an emotive feel as does the repeated chorus of “they’re calling; they’re calling”. The Yearning has gone all ABBA on us as the new single Only When I’m Dancing demonstrates. The flip side Moonlight Fantasy errs on the side of disco.
