Sleepwalk have a new single out. Well it’s a split with Wet Tropics whose track is nice enough but ultimately doesn’t do anything for me. The Sleepwalk track is pretty good however featuring layers of noise, dynamic guitars and vocals that hang back, not daring to take the plunge to come forward. Noisy but nice! Белый порошок (White Powder) is the second single to be taken from the forthcoming new album by Layuchi Kvity. Where as previous single >Девушка Которую Зовут Тишина (Girl Named Silence) was an excellent spin on shoegazing Белый порошок is a blast mixing noise pop, alt-rock and punk. Redhead is the new project from Andrew Simmonds, ex member and songwriter for Donna Hayward. On this, his debut EP, Simmonds is joined by members of Astragal and Groundhog Day. Not being familiar with Donna Haywards work Spiral is an engaging listen that crosses into various territories such as alt-rock and post-punk. The EP also gets stronger the further in it gets and by the time the closer Name (Room) ends you may, like me, head back to the first track and start all over again.
