Witterings from an old indie kid

Mirrorlakes – Three Songs

Mirrorlakes hail from Jakarta, Indonesia and, unlike many of their contemporaries, they don’t seek to replicate the C86 or Sarah Records sound. Describing their music as slowcore or sadcore the two tracks here are slow building, sauntering tracks that meander on the side of melancholy. However that doesn’t mean that they are dull or miserable. Far from it in fact and the vocals, alongside the guitars, make both songs here somewhat catchy indeed.

Three Songs is out now via Dismantled Records.
