The Reds, Pinks & Purples – Last Summer In A Rented Room
Another new EP from the ever prolific Glenn Donaldson and not even a demo in sight. Three pleasing indiepop songs that are pleasant to the ear with closer Keep Your Secrets Close being my pick of the bunch as it swoons from left to right.
Soft Lashes – Silk Decay
Silk Decay is an EP that contains some fine examples of bedroom tunes not far removed from the likes of what Wake In June and ❀ Foliage ❀ have been doing over the past year or so. That’s not to say Michael Tenzer is a newcomer, far from it in fact as he has been involved in several bands and has been recording under Soft Lashes moniker for a few years now. If you like your guitars jingling and jangling complete with reverb laden vocals then this EP could just be for you.
The Bathe – The Silence
Taken from the forthcoming debut album Last Looks, that is due for release next year, The Silence is a song that is an ode to departed friends, lost loved ones and the absence that entails. It’s not supposed to be happy or said but The Bathe, aka Bailey Crone, makes it an emotional experience none the less. Dreampop at its tenderest.
