The King In Mirrors – So Long Serenade

So Long Serenade is the follow up January’s impressive Fall Into Place which was a teaser for this release and rightly starts the proceedings. There are five songs here and all are fine examples of well written crafted and melodic indiepop. The guitars are catchy and Rich May’s distinctive vocals, as ever, demand the listeners attention. Standout track for me is the driving and blistering Big Tomorrow which soon develops into a listening addiction. So Long Serenade is available digitally from here. No Vacation – Intermission Dreamy, laid-back music from Californian’s No Vacation. It’s easy to drift off and daydream to these tracks especially on opener Yam Yam which sets the tone for the EP. If indiepop clubs had chill out rooms this could well be the soundtrack. Available on vinyl, cassette and digital formats from here. Facebook Poppel – Hit It Staying with the dreamy vibe Hit It is the debut album from Belgian jangle poppers Poppel. Something For The Weekend? Three from Down Under

This weeks pack of three features three artists from Australia. Fragile Animals – Light That Fades EP Melodic alternative/indie rock from Brisbane. Their music is further enhanced by the voice of Victoria Jenkins, who also plays bass, that gives them an edge over other bands in the genre.  The title track and Home are the EP standouts. They do fall flat on their faces on the mishmash that is Smaller Circles but four decent tunes out of five ain’t bad. Available on CD or digital formats – get it from here. Facebook Turtle Bay Television – Rest Well In Your Shell Rest Well … Continue reading Something For The Weekend? Three from Down Under
