The Coventry is one of those bands I have been listening too on and off for a few years now, but a search of this site shows that I have never mentioned them. Anyway if you are a fan of retro sounding post-punk then this Italian based band will be right up your street. Or should that be strada?
Atropine is an expansive synth driven sounding post-punk song that encompasses dark wave and gothic rock, taking in the darker side of the early 1980s. Both vocals and chorus easily draw the listener in. It’s certainly the most accessible single of theirs that I have heard. Enjoyable stuff through the gloom.
Atropine is backed with a shorter radio edit and is out now via Swiss Dark Nights.
