Peachier – Life is PeachieЯ

There isn’t enough shambling, fuzzy noise pop around these days or if there is I have yet to discover it. Thankfully Peachier dish up five tracks that easily fit that criteria. Mixing up punk, twee and what knows else they rush through five songs in breakneck speed with the longest track clocking in at just 1m36s. It gets even better when they put a “poppier” slant on their songs with Peachier and No Problem reminding me of the likes of The Rosehips, Bubblegum Splash and The Shop Assistants. Subway surfing? Holy Now – It Will All End In Tears

Holy Now surely have surpassed themselves on It Will All End In Tears. It’s a song characterized by splendour that just keeps improving on each listen. Play it through headphones and you will see what I mean and the effects of the psychedelic tinged guitars and Julia Olanders’ voice should have you in raptures before the song ends. Despite the somber title, it’s somehow uplifting. It’s backed with the previously released, but still impressive, All The Time and a live track You Never Can Tell with it’s 1960s rock ‘n’ roll feel. Happypills – Summer Song

Hot on the heels of his debut album Milk Floes, which I failed to mention so let me rectify that by pointing you over here, Japan’s one man bedroom indiepop band Happypills has released a new single. I am not quite sure why Summer Song did not make the aforementioned album (maybe it’s because it’s so short) but it would have been a worthy inclusion thanks to the now trademark jangling guitars with a vocal style that wavers between deadpan and emotional ridden. The Slow Summits – Languid Belles

The Slow Summits (named after The Pastels 2013 album of the same name?) are an indiepop band from Linköping, Sweden. Languid Belles seems to be their debut release and it contains four jangling pop tunes that are reminiscent of days gone by. It’d be hard not to think of 1980s UK indie bands when listening to the EP. Off the top of my head think The Smiths, Orange Juice, The Weather Prophets, The Housemartins, The Loft, and The Wedding Present. Torrey is a female fronted band who hail from San Francisco and that’s all I can find out about them as for now their homepage does not offer any clues. Which, I kinda, like. Anyway Sister features six indiepop songs that need to be heard. Initial thoughts would suggest comparisons to the likes of Cults, The Aislers Set, Best Coast and amongst their peers Jeanines. Brazilian band Pin Ups first surfaced back in 1990 releasing five albums before seemingly splitting up, after a number of line up changes, in 1998. A covers EP emerged the year before last alongside some comeback shows and now the band, with I think most of the last line up, are preparing to release their sixth album on London based Brazilian label Midsummer Madness and Fleeting Media.
