Sillas are a dreampop band from Indonesia – the finest one in that country if the label are to be believed! Their new Kaqotun EP features two new tracks alongside two newly remastered tracks which were originally found on April’s Mamlaka. The original words still stand!
What about the two new tracks? The title track is a jangling affair resplendent with calming and soothing vocals. It sounds joyous but given there are no lyrics to translate I have no idea what the song is about but it certainly sounds good to these ears! Untitled is as chilled as London in the shade and has a spiritual feel about is as it hazily makes it way from start to finish. As for the finest dreampop band in Indonesia? I am not sure about that because of the wealth of talent that country posses but Sillas are certainly up there, alongside their peers!
