David Newton & Thee Mighty Angels feat. Eddie Argos – The Songs That Changed Our Lives

I am not sure how I missed this one last month but hey better late than never. Songwriter and producer David Newton is best known for being the bass player and co-songwriter in The Mighty Lemon Drops and has also appeared in a number of other bands including The Wild Flowers, Revolux, Blue Aeroplanes and Fonda to name but a few.

The Songs That Changed Our Lives is the first recording under the David Newton & Thee Mighty Angels moniker since 2011’s Paint the Town EP. It’s a tuneful post-punk inspired pop song with Eddie Argos (Art Brut) catchily wheeling off song title after song title resulting in an addictive listening experience.

An album, A Gateway to a Lifetime of Disappointment, will be released on Friday 14th August 2020. It compiles the aforementioned EP and five new tracks. In the meantime you can buy the single from here (the artwork featuring a young Newton proudly showing off his record collection is fab!)
