Moscow based Mashmellow have, after teasing us with two excellent singles, released their debut EP titled Someday Club. The EP consists of five tracks including those aforementioned singles which I have previously reviewed here and here.
The band err on the poppier side of alt-rock/indie and after being spoilt by Share It and Heaven Is You I have to admit that on the first few listens the title track and Voices have washed over me without making a dent. However, they save the best to last on the final track Melt. It’s sounds a bit New Order-ish with dream pop overtures. It also reminds me of fellow Russian band Hospital and I have to say that Masha Shurygina’s voice has not sounded better.
The Someday Club EP can be purchased digitally from the band via their bandcamp page.
