Witterings from an old indie kid

Perfect Strangers – Unlikely Partners

Unlikely Partners is a collection of songs that flirt with the sounds of C86 and the jangle pop of the Paisley Underground. The band, who feature members of The Drums and Violens, deliver an album which doesn’t give us one standout track or wasted fillers but instead treats the listener to eight consistently strong songs. These include the short and poppy Deborah, the psychedelic-tinged Suds and the jangling Psychic Self-Defense. Entertaining stuff.
