Mannequin – Nocere

Mannequin deliver three fine coldwave tracks that should tickle the fancy of any post-punk fan. Whilst musically, they are not as dark some of the post-punk bands I have featured recently, there are still hints of darker waves amongst the melodic synths especially on the sometimes moody Them. It’s Lines however that piques my interest. Electronic beats complete with a catchy vocal performance suggest its headed straight down to the post-punk dance-floor which isn’t a bad place to be! Echoberyl – Dark Embrace Me

Taken from Echoberyl’s forthcoming debut album Apparition Dark Embrace Me mixes the classic early New Order guitar sound with coldwave to devastating effect. When, the guitars give way, the dancefloor orientated synths kick in alongside a strong vocal performance. I love it and that album will be heading my way soon for sure. TRIT95 – Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel is the follow up to last December’s Forever single. Like its predecessor it’s like listening to a forgotten coldwave gem from the 1980s on Les Disques du Crépuscule and is sadly over before it begins. However, it’s the flip side New Surroundings that needs to be heard. Imagine if you will that before the tragic death of Ian Curtis and after progressing with tracks that eventually became the b-sides of Komakino Joy Division morphed into New Order.
