Witterings from an old indie kid

Totem – A Night In Reverse

Totem are a synth pop band from Berlin although their sound harks towards Basildon and Brussels. Must be all those b’s. Anyway A Night In Reverse could have been the sound of Depeche Mode if they followed the coldwave underground of Belgium and France rather than being 1980s pop stars which to be fair, wasn’t a bad thing whilst Vince Clarke was in the band!

The band state that “while the song pays tribute to the past it ultimately moves us forward”. I am not actually hearing that yet but more may be revealed on the forthcoming second single and a debut album. But, for now, this excellent retro sounding tune is more than enough. I think there is a pun in there somewhere!

You can get A Night In Reverse and an EP of demos from the band.
