I am guessing, that like me, you initially thought this had a massive Telescopes vibe written all over it given the band name and artwork. Whilst Silence/Disarm has some hints of shoegaze it’s hard to confine it to any one genre. Suffice to say it’s an excellent track which I wished could be at least five minutes longer rather than pressing replay constantly. This weeks pack of three come via from three artists who tag themselves, amongst others, as Shoegaze on bandcamp. Glaze – Wasted Mind EP This EP is nearer post rock than shoegaze thanks to the guitar driven melancholic but melodic tracks contained within. Slow building layers of noise are punctured by sparse vocals that sometimes struggle to be heard behind the sonic wall. The livelier Mercury is the pick of the bunch for me.
