Toronto’s Flowers Of Hell are re-releasing their 2012 album Odes as a deluxe first vinyl pressing for Record Store Day UK (April 22 2023). It comes complete in red vinyl and a die cut sleeve. RSD has long lost it’s original meaning for me, but the album is curio, as it features the band covering amongst others Sterolab’s Super Electric, The Byrds Mr Tambourine Man and Joy Division’s Atmosphere all in an orchestral style. The latter is one of my all-time favourite songs and the cover here is pretty good, it has to be said.
You are not going to find Odes online – well most probably on eBay a couple of hours after RSD starts, so you will have to find your local store to grab a copy. Or you can still get the original digital version from here. The band’s new EP, Keshakhtaran, will be released next month. That can be pre-ordered from here.
