Three “indie” tracks I have been catching up on outside of my recent listening to post-punk and electronica. I may post about that too at some point!
The Happy Somethings – No Bother
No Bother heralds the start of a break for The Happy Somethings and they will return at some point in 2023. It’s been a good year for the band and they leave us, well for now, with this delightful twee pop track which is about about caring and looking after each other.
Motifs – Lovelost
Lovelost is another slice of female fronted ethereal shoegaze, a sound that has been so popular of late. It not only manages to grab your attention but also has the power to imagine that you are listening to it in a floatation tank. Go on, close your eyes and see (hear) what I mean!
Lucid Express – Blank (The BV’s Remix)
This remix is taken from the bands new release Floret that features original tracks and their remixes. I really like this one that which sounds like a soundtrack worked on by Haiku Salut crossed with a long forgotten piece of experimental electronica from the unreleased vaults of Warp Records circa the early 1990s. Impressive. Floret can be purchased from here.
