Sapphire & Steel – Evelina

Sapphire & Steel, the band comprising Estella Rosa (Nah…) and Jørn Åleskjær, are not constrained by any one genre as part of their retro-pop project. We have had disco, MOR and folk scattered across their two releases to date.

On the new single Evelina janglepop and 1980’s pop music entwine as the song tells a tale “of a girl you will pass her by on the street without noticing.” The words spin a melancholy tale, one of regret and self-imposed suffering. Åleskjær’s guitar twangs whilst the pair share joint vocals. Who knows what we will get to hear on their next release!

Evelina is out now on Fadeawayradiate Records.
