The Bunbury – Alius Malicious EP

The new EP from the Yogyakarta based The Bunbury sees the band moving away from their 1980s post-punk, indiepop sound and moving directly into the jurisdiction of the indie rock genre. And straight from the go, it’s a damned good workout! The tracks are energetic, catchy, tuneful with strong vocals none more so than Blue Haze. They slow things down on Hallelujah which does stray into The Cult’s Love era territory. But that’s not a negative. Will I still be playing these songs come the end of the year. Well I am not so sure but for now they fit the bill very well indeed.

The Alius Malicious EP is out now via La Munai Records.
