The Line Managers – Nothing Seems To Work

The Line Managers come from England’s second City Birmingham and Nothing Seems To Work is the band’s debut single. Mixing power-pop with folk/skiffle tinged indiepop that was a staple fixture in the indie charts of the mid to late 1980s Nothing Seems To Work is a lively track that should gladden the hearts of retro indiepop fans everywhere. It’s backed with You Should Know which is a rawer (demo?) sounding track. Initially, it is not as accessible as the “a-side” but slowly grows on you after a few listens. The single can be purchased digitally from here.

EDIT: The band features John Napier who is in the Birmingham band The Snowflakes. He posted a “solo” version of Nothing Seems To Work back in January.
