Witterings from an old indie kid

Various Artists – Disintegration Revisited (and Farewell to TBTCI)

Sadly The Blog That Celebrates Itself Records has called it a day after 10 years. The label was known for its cover version projects but it also provided valuable and insightful compilations of new bands and their original material such as the recent Come And Feel The NoiZe compilations alongside the Colours and Darkside compilations. And not forgetting the blog itself of course!

Judging by the farewell note there is a possibility that label boss Renato Malizia may be involved in new projects and I wish him well for any new endeavours – thanks for all the music over the past decade!

But, for now, the labels parting shot is a reworking of The Cure’s Disintegration album that features covers by the like of The Royal Landscaping Society, Lost Tapes and many more. You can get that, on a pay what you want basis, from here.

However, in tribute to TBTCI, lets not forget the finest (probably!) cover version on the label with The Morelings turning the flip side of Thieves Like Us into a true dream pop classic.
