The Morelings – No Sign

Any band that describes themselves as being dream pop/post punk appeals to me somewhat. The band certainly lean to the former part of the description especially on opener Less which builds up slowly before reaching a crescendo comprising of soaring guitars with ethereal female vocals thrown in for good measure. They repeat the trick on Too Far and the title track but it’s Less that I keep coming back to as it is not as polished and sounds less (no pun intended!) contrived when compared to the rest of the EP. Various – Oddbox 2014

Oddbox Records have released a pay as much as you want compilation highlighting their releases this past year. It features tracks from the likes of The Wolfhounds, The Wendy Darlings, Tyrannosaurus Dead and more. Flyying Colours – Not Today

Australian band Flyying Colours follow up their excellent debut EP with a new track called Not Today. They sound a bit like Ride meeting Dinosaur Jr with a side helping of other Creation bands such as Swervedriver and My Bloody Valentine thrown in for good measure. Not Today is out now on Shelflife Records (the mp3 version also contains a FLAC version) whilst it follows in the UK & EU on Monday via Club AC30.
