It’s hard not to think of the Deal sisters when listening to this excellent EP from Baltimore’s Crimson Wave as I can hear the likes of The Breeders and The Amps here. Liar is taken from the new split release with the lo-fi sounds made by Trust Fund. It is soon to be released on DIY label Reeks of Effort (or Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records in the states) and it is out on 22nd September 2014 (vinyl/digital). Dizzy is the second single from bentcousin who comprise of twins Amelia and Pat. It sounds like a cross between Colour Me Wednesday and Curve’s Ten Little Girls thanks to the rap in the middle. Don’t let that three letter word put you off as this is a great summer pop tune.
