On Gaze At The Ceiling the Bangkok based Death of Heather continue to remove the shackles of their influences, which was a process that started with their previous single Drained. This now allows their own identity to come to the fore.
Of course, when it comes to Shoegaze, it’s a hard task to add diversity to the mix. But the band are at last leaving their own stamp/mark, and having male vocals sung over ethereal and shimmering guitars is a good place as any to start. The accompanying video, which reminds me a bit of the film Lost In Translation, is excellent fodder for the song to work as a soundtrack.
Gaze At The Ceiling will also appear on a forthcoming extended EP that features remixes from Bdrmm. For now, you can get it digitally from here.
