The Five Year Plan – Six Feet Under

The Five Year plan were originally formed in 1984 by Tim Rippington and Rob Pursey, two names which no doubt some of you may be familiar with. The band released two singles in 1986-1987 and that was it recordings wise until the Peacetime Broadcast compilation was released in 2014.

Eight years later, after listening to some old demos and live tracks, Rippington contacted the other band members, and they agreed to re-record the songs exactly as they would have played them in 1985. And no surprise where the album title 1985 came from. I am not going to rewrite what I have read elsewhere! Head to the album’s Bandcamp page to read the whole story.

Six Feet Under is the first preview track from the album and what a corker it is. The retro sound is replicated in full – just listen to the live version from 1985 to hear what I mean. Listening to this, I am transported back to days from gone by when I digested a diet of stuff like this in my bedroom when I was a lad!

1985 will be released early next month. It’s available on limited edition vinyl from Old Bad Habits or get it on limited edition CD from the band.
