For someone who has been buying the music of Mark Vorderhaus music in more than one of his guises for a couple of years now, I am surprised that after taking a look at the blog archives I have never actually written a post dedicated to his music before. Let’s rectify that now in the shape of Home Video Recorders, which is a musical ode to the treasure that was once Tomorrow’s World.
Given the song’s title, you should not be surprised to hear that this is vintage sounding music. Kraftwerk is an obvious name to jump out but given they appeared on Tomorrow’s World in 1975, that should have been expected. Repetitive, sampled voices praising video technology and robotic synthesised beats complete the picture. Simple but incredibly effective.
