Durham’s Martha return with their first single since 2019’s Love Keeps Kicking album. Titled Please Don’t Take Me Back it’s a punk infused powerpop song which also owes dues to Nirvana – or maybe Credit to the Nation! The track is begging to be played loud as the protagonist wants to be taken back to the old days but remembers that they, like the future perhaps, were pretty bad and sad.
Please Don’t Take Me Back, which is backed with the band’s cover of Allo Darlin’s My Heart Is A Drummer, is out on 7″ and digital formats via Specialist Subject Records later this month. Pre-order from here.
