It’s an extended jubilee bank holiday in the UK and to be honest I couldn’t give a toss about the Royal family in a Britain that seems to be hurtling back to the 1950’s at an alarming rate. I mean pounds and ounces? What next? Shillings and groats? In a Britain where 1.2 million now rely on food banks and where 16 million people in the UK could be classed as living in poverty by next year an unelected head of state is surely a thing of the past. Don’t believe that good for tourism nonsense either. Join the cross party Republic or donate to the Trussell Trust.
Or buy simply buy the new single (or one of it’s many mixes) from The Kunts
Despite offering to go in and work rather than put up the saturated coverage I have turned off the TV and radio and in between gardening, raiding Artoffact Records and catching up with a backlog of reading I have managed to find time to listen to some tunes which are collated here in a tidy little capsule.
Here is the Playlist:
or listen on YouTube.
Lost Film – Big Talk
Lo-fi indiepop from Massachusetts based Lost Film.
Why Bonnie – 90 In November
The new single and title track of the forthcoming debut album that will be released on August 19 2022 via Keeled Scales.
Misty Coast – Brainchild
Fuzzy dreampop from the Norwegian psychedelic tinged shoegaze outfit.
акульи слёзы – малость
Taken from the new EP/mini album ссадины малость is dreamy pop music of the highest order.
Gula Gången – Ensam
Entertaining indiepop from Stockholm. The band are new to me but have been around for a couple of years. An album is on the way but I have no idea how to buy their music in lossless or physical format. Any pointers?
CCTV – Sierra
Post-punk electronica from the New Brunswick based CCTV.
Cosmit – Cost of Breathing
A fast paced punk influenced power pop track taken from the band’s new EP It’s Cosmit which is out now via Specialist Subject Records. I can’t see Liz playing this one.
Pye Corner Audio (feat. Andy Bell) – Warmth Of The Sun
The new single is an edited version of the 7m30s track that will can be found on the band’s forthcoming Let’s Emerge album that will be released via Sonic Cathedral on July 16 2022. Electronica and shoegaze combine.
The Guild – Murder at Dawn
The new single from Caleb Carr’s (Arts & Letters/English Summer) post punk project. The Guild also features Susan Anne Messner (The House of Silence) and Kris McAleese (Hi, Kate) in their line up. I don’t think it sounds that much different from Arts & Letters to be honest and that’s a good thing!
Pet Shimmers – Sonder
A scuffed up blast of bedroom/noise pop from Bristol’s Pet Shimmers. The single will be out via Brokers Tip on 15 July 2022.
