Humdrum – Superbloom
Humdrum is one Loren Vanderbilt (ex Star Tropics) and Superbloom is another slice of the contagious indiepop that first surfaced on last year’s Wave Goodbye single. Encompassing every indiepop influence there possibly is, the track is very addictive and catchy. And, of course, very good!
Blanco Tranco – Devil’s Ivy
On last years debut EP the music of Australian’s Blanco Tranco was a blend of indiepop with post-punk influences, especially on the excellent Trophy Hunting track. They have certainly moved away from that sound on the foot tapper that is Devil’s Ivy with it’s Motown/Northern Soul influences that tie in with the jangle pop guitars. An interesting sound. Shame it did not last longer!
The Holiday Crowd – Party Favours
Talking of foot tappers we could get a party going especially with the new single from The Holiday Crowd on our playlist. Taking a funk infused Orange Juice as their starting point and fine tune it with bit of The Associates this grooving track should get everyone onto the dancefloor. Pre-order this one from Shelflife Records.
