Australian band Grazer’s music has shifted from indiepop to dreampop to shoegaze (and back again!) over their releases to date. On the new single Without You they blend elements of all three.
It’s a hazy track complete with a luxuriant sound. This has the effect of causing the listener to go round in circles as the music and dreamy vocals take you on a journey of twists and turns. The other side of this double-sided single side Vison sounds a bit like Stereolab being remixed by Saint Etienne with some theme tunes from 1980s TV shows mixed in for good measure. It’s a cert that Grazer are not pigeonholed and we should praise them for that.
Without You is out now as a digital single via Cascine.
