Another day and another slice of post-punk from Canada. Maude is the twin song to December’s Corian and features some nice Peter Hook style bass lines amongst the synthesised beats. The words are mainly sung in the band’s native French but when they puncture those with a burst of English singing “It doesn’t matter, you are what you are” you get the gist. It’s a strong track in line with what the lyrics and the lovely video are trying to portray.
Maude is available digitally from here.
