Rilev hail from Mexico City and this track is their third release but Mar is the first time I have listened to them. And it isn’t a bad introduction either as their melodic blend of alt-rock and shoegaze fuse together quite nicely. The band sing in their native Spanish with the words being repeated, in hushed tones, creating a soothing effect. After translating the words and glancing at the artwork it all makes sense. It’s time to dive into their previous two releases let alone the sea!
