Witterings from an old indie kid
This weeks pack of three features three bands that mix psychedelia with shoegaze.
Star Glows – Spiderland
Spiderland is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Stargaze Rock ‘n’ Roll. It’s dreamy, spacey and is one hell of a head nodding tune. The aforementioned album is out later this month in vinyl and digital formats. Pre-order it from here.
Palm Haze – Almost Soon
Almost Soon is taken from the forthcoming album Rêve Bleu. It’s a spiralling mix of drone and guitars coupled with haughty vocals and the song reminds me of everything from the 13th Floor Elevators to Loop. Rêve Bleu is released at the end of the month. Pre-order from here.
Sungaze – Light In All Of It
I have mentioned Sungaze a couple of times now and I was impressed with their excellent Washed Away single. Their debut album Light In All Of It is out now and is packed full of psychedelic drenched dreampop/shoegazing tunes. Check out the likes of New Familiar and This River as cases in point. You can order the album in CD and digital formats from here.
