Starry Eyed Cadet – Slow/Stargazer

San Francisco’s Starry Eyed Cadet return, after an 18-month absence, with a new self released two track single.

Slow is a sometimes, jangling, sometimes twee indiepop song which demonstrates the band have not lost their touch in producing the near perfect pop song. Stargazer sees the band adding a layer of fuzz, as well as some determined percussion, between the tweeness which means the song sometimes stutters but it’s evidence that there is more in their arsenal than simply replicating the Sarah Records back catalogue.

I sometimes find Starry Eyed Cadet a frustrating listen but keeping it simple as they do here demonstrates they can be excellent purveyors of their craft.

Get it, on a pay what you want basis, from the band.
