Titled Someone the words & voice interlace with the hook laden keyboards and guitars resulting in a pretty strong sounding indiepop/spacepop hybrid. It is a joint release between Shelflife Records (US) and Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten (Eur). Letters to The Girl is the Proctors first single since 2016’s Cellophane – if you discount January’s digital offering Icelandic that is. And what a belter we have on our hands, well ears! Love Dance – All The Time I haven’t heard anything from Love Dance in an age and then I heard this and I thought it was a completely different band. The Fireworks release their new single Dream About You next week. It’s also their first material with new vocalist Beth Arzy (Trembling Blue Stars/Lightning in a Twilight Hour/The Luxembourg Signal). Thankfully the change of singer does not affect the band’s brand of fuzzy, sometimes noisy, indie pop. All three tracks here are corkers but it’s Better Without You Now that stands out for me especially given its retro sound and the joint girl/boy vocals shining throughout.
