Fresh from being selected as Band Of The Day in the Guardian David Alexander aka Summer Heart has released his latest single and it is poppier than ever. Despite the horrendous title it manages to maintain originality to distinguish it from the commercial pap that constantly floods our ears these days reminding me of the Balearic/chill out tunes of old. Latest from news from the band: A new Girl One and the Grease Guns single is up for pre-order from Squirrel Records. It’s a two track 7″ with a bonus three track CD, “Sonic Spume’. The 7” vinyl consists of two tracks, the atmospheric No Longer Spellbound and the playful, Spectrum-pop of The Nightmare Room, whilst the bonus CD includes a reworked electronic-pop version of The Manhattan Love Suicides’ Veronica plus two new tracks Burn My Brains and Minimal Effort. London based Rémi Parson might be a name known to some of you as he is a founder member of both Electrophonvintage and The Sunny Street. Droguerie is the first single to be taken from his forthcoming début album La Tristesse. It’s simple minimalistic but incredibly effective synth pop crossing any language barriers with ease. It’s a double a-side affair and will also be available digitally from their bandcamp page and I have to say the synths on Sólido-Líquido are particularity wonderful.
