Gold-Bears – For You

Easter has just improved with the news that Gold-Bears are to release their second album Dalliance on June 3rd via Slumberland Records. Their debut album Are You Falling in Love? was a corker and judging by For You they are continuing in the same vein. Frontman Jeremy Underwood’s vocals are still distinctive as ever and they go well with the fast and furious guitars. The Wendy Darlings – The Insufferable Fatigues of Idleness

I was part of Lostmusic when we released French band The Wendy Darlings début release, the We Come With Friendly Purposes EP back in 2009. Moving forward five years my old Lostmusic cohort Trev is releasing the bands début album The Insufferable Fatigues of Idleness on his Oddbox Records label. I have to say that after the euphoria of their début the second album from The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart was a massive disappointment to these ears. A case of too much too soon. Now a new track Simple and Sure has appeared and it’s the first single to be taken from the bands forthcoming album Days of Abandon which is due for release on 22nd April 2014 via Yebo. I Feel Like I’m On Drugs is taken from The Strange Creatures forthcoming second EP titled Stargazer which is due out in May. It’s full of interesting ideas floating between indiepop, dreampop and shoegaze but gets bogged down in parts due to the songs length.
