Now I’m A Killer is taken from The Wolfhound’s new album Untied Kingdom (…or how to come to terms with your culture) that will be released on Oddbox Records in October. It will be their first album comprising of entirely new music for over twenty five years. Something for the Weekend….

Another three pack for your discovery/enjoyment etc. The first two featured in the recent podcast and it’s only fair to give them more of a mention. The Lads Mags – The Future’s Done Excellent 1960’s girl band influenced garage from Canadian’s The Lad Mags. Of the two tracks available it’s opener Bed of Bones that does it for me and I stupidly gave it the wrong title in the aforementioned podcast – now corrected. It’s Tomorrow Now is the first single to be taken from Flyying Colour’s debut album Mindfullness that is due to be released in September on Club AC30. The Trudy – Rocket Heart

Rocket Heart, the new single from The Trudy, is taken from their forthcoming album Always Never Beautiful Forever which is due for a release next month. The band have been going since the early 1980’s and there are hooks and influences from each decade of their existence here resulting in a pretty damn near perfect pop song. Cayetana – Tired Eyes

Tired Eyes features two tracks neither of which bears that name although the words appear in opener freedom 1313 which is a fine slab of slow, building alternative rock complete with some sublime vocals. The flip side sees a pretty damn good effort of covering New Order’s Age of Consent that stays true to the original but also manages sound distinctive again thanks to the vocals.  There is enough here for me to pay a visit to their previous work. Records I Like Top 10 2015

2015 was the year I listened to the shoegaze and post punk revivalists in earnest. Club AC30 and Manic Depression Records both deserve a mention alongside the usual cohorts of Dufflecoat Records and Oddbox Records who delivered their signature brand of indiepop, diy and noise pop. I also started listening to full albums again with efforts from The Chills, Beirut and Robert Forster being high on the recommended list.
