So here we are again. The end of another year and another best of year list. This one features my favourite indiepop, twee pop, dream pop, shoegaze and alt-rock tracks of 2025 and I have been enjoying playing these again over the past few days. Skep Wax is featured heavily (or should that be heavenly? – I will get me coat!).
I was also glad to see (hear) that precious Recordings of London has been releasing new music alongside their BBC sessions restorations in 2025 too. And on that note and after listening to my low bitrate copy for years, we finally got to hear the best track The Motorcycle Boy ever recorded in all its glory. I shed a tear….
AI reared it’s head, and I was caught out by Copperplate who have their very own Record’s I Like Best AI Artist of 2025 all to themselves, but (shocking confession time) I found some of their songs to be very good. Sigh…. Anyway, here are two views on the subject. PRO Thus Blog CON Shoegaze Blog
