Records I Like Update

The first post on the Records I Like blog was on December 30, 2012 and the last post on this site will be imminent. I am finding it harder and harder to dedicate time to the site due to other commitments & hobbies and after some deliberation, I have decided to call it day after 12 years. You may have noticed the drop-off in posts over the past few months.

I will still be posting mixes on Mixcloud, Spotify and Buy Music Club for the foreseeable future, and you can follow when these are posted via Bluesky, Mastodon or via the platforms themselves.

EDIT: Regarding the above. I have had a rethink and will post the monthly mixes and samplers via this site, as this blog links directly into my Bluesky and Mastodon accounts. However, that will be the limit of my posting!

The site will undergo some changes as my WordPress premium account expires, meaning that in order 1) the recordsilike.co.uk domain name will cease to exist, and the site address will revert to https://recordsilike.wordpress.com/ and 2) adverts will reappear on the blog but uBlock Origin (Firefox) or Ublock Origin Lite will be your friend.

Thanks to all the regular readers who have persisted despite my badly written words, and those who just popped by. I hope I have introduced you to a good tune or two.

Cheers!

Tom

  1. Hi Tom. Sorry to see your blog going but can understand your reasons. Just wanted to say thank you for all you’ve done for us – and others – over the many years. And good luck with your future endeavours. Best wishes, Happy, Jolly & Joy.

  2. This has been my main source for music news, and I’ll really miss reading your posts, but I’m glad you’ll still be making mixes/playlists. I understand being busy with life-stuff and I’m sorry I haven’t commented more often (had to dig up my old wordpress account info and login to leave this comment, at least!) Thank you for introducing me to many bands, and helping me stay updated on new releases by my fav indie pop artists. I really appreciate it! Wish you all the best 🙂

    1. Thank you. Glad I pointed you to some new bands and kept you up to date. I enjoy making mixes so the samplers etc will still be around. I have had a rethink and will post samplers and mixes on this blog rather than via Bluesky and Mastodon, as they are linked to this site in any case!
