As we enter the last fortnight of the year, the usual round of compilations & samplers are making an appearance. Here are three that have caught my eye. Er, I mean ear!

A Chaotic Pop Records Compilation – I Know It’s Only A CDR Release, But I Love It!

I don’t really need to add anything else to what I have written previously these past few months about Indonesian label Chaotic Records. I think this compilation should be compulsory for any indiepop and twee-pop fan. Available on CDR but, thanks to the postage costs, it’s also available digitally from the label.

Gold Mold Records – Sampler ’23

The only artist I know from the Goldmold Records label is post-punk act Dancer. I have been meaning to delve deeper to find out what else the label has to offer and this sampler is a timely reminder. Blush Club have already grabbed my attention. Available from here on a pay what you want basis.

Artoffact Records 2023 Sampler

Canadian label has always been a regular haunt of mine when it comes to all things post-punk. I noticed that their sound remit has expanded somewhat this year, and they describe the contents of their annual sampler as ranging from “From indie-pop to industrial.”.

All I know is that the track from Spectres is immense and sees me counting down to their new album release next March. Also enjoying Chernaya Rechka and Wingtips too, but there is plenty more to discover as well. get it from here.
