Dreamcoaster – Say Nothing EP

Dreamcoaster’s new Say Nothing EP is the second one to be released under that moniker – they used to be called Dreams of Empire, after all. Whilst the name has changed, their music thankfully has not and there is a sense of familiarity about the band’s take on dreamy indiepop. Musically, the EP swirls with unabashed abandon, using the lovely voice of Jane Craig as a focus rather than an accompaniment.

The EP is an incredibly accessible listen, and the addition of The Popguns Tony Bryant on drums enhances it further. That aforementioned voice comes to the fore on the slower paced Closer Than Comfort which adds another dimension to the band’s sound. It has a lush and orchestral feel, giving it a sense of ethereal beauty.

It’s a pleasant and engaging listen. The Say Nothing EP is available in CD and digital formats via the band’s own Duck Race Recording Co label.
