The Something For The Weekend Sampler

So rather than as per the usual, well as usual as can be, Friday three pack here is a sampler bundle instead to make up for the lack of posts this month. Enjoy!

Here is the Playlist:

The Tracks:

Peach Gardens – Sunset Drive

Shimmering and at times ethereal shoegaze from Russia. Some parts sound like their fellow country folk (and the sadly missed) Pinkshinyultrablast. Sunny Drive is taken from the band’s latest EP In Time and Eternity, which can be purchased from here.

The Radio Field feat Phantom Handshakes – Other One

The second single to be taken from the forthcoming album Don’ts and Dos from the Dusseldorf based band. Beautiful and delectable indiepop which also features the wonderful Phantom Handshakes too.

The Lost Ships – Derek From Domino’s

Taken from the current album Atoms Collide Forever, which is out now via Subjangle. This janglefest of a song is as good as the song title!

Stillfilms – Safe Bet

Safe Bet is the lastes single from the shimmering Californian based dreampop Stillfilms who are getting better with each release.

Shrine -Serenity

Serenity is the opening track from the Sacred Limbo EP from the new to me Indonesian act Shrine. The ethereal sounds of 4AD and Creation Records reborn. The Sacred Limbo EP is out now via Paska Records.

The Photocopies – Straight F’s

Straight F’s is taken from the current Untogether EP which you can pick up from here. It’s another one of Sean Turner’s instantly identifiable lo-fi retro indiepop tunes.

Bridge Dog – Working At It

There is no stopping Melbourne’s Bridge Dog at present, and Working At It is their third cracking single released in the past few months.

Axolotes Mexicanos – Amarre

More noisy punk and fuzzy infused indiepop from Elefant (and Spain!) that I am finding indistinguishableat present if I am honest. It’s the same story with the bands on the labels roster who are producing it. Luckily, it is all rather fine!

Oslo Twins – Back To Nothing

Back To Nothing is the title track from the forthcoming debut EP of the same name from Bristol’s Oslo Twins.  A lovely track influenced by not only a range of genres but musical decades as well. Pre-order the EP from here.

Grrrl Gang – Rude Awakening

Rude Awakening is the second single to be taken from the forthcoming album Spunky!, that is much more accessible than the previous single and title track. Whilst the sound presents a much more mature edge, it also contains hints of the band’s playful and poppier past. Pre-order the album from here.
