Royal Arch – Twenty Three

Greek outfit Royal Arch have recently released their third single. I previously wrote that their last single, the indiepop/post-punk hybrid Why Don’t You Let It Go, sounded a bit like The Lodger crossed with Franz Ferdinand, but on Twenty Three the band’s post punk side comes to the fore.

I hear the post-punk revivalists here (think Editors, Desperate Journalist and the like) as the song glides across a sparse, desolate wasteland. The band write that the track is “a lyrically narrative and dark song that talks about the hope that people have to find true love but understand that what they need first is to find themselves.”

Get it from here.
