Happy new year one and all. Records I Like now enters it’s 11th year which is way longer than my previous, and more successful effort, indie-mp3. I still don’t know who the wag is who purchased the domain name and placed an ancient version of the site up on it but if it turns you on so be it!

Wait! Another Best of 2022 mix? So what is this one all about? Well it caters for tracks that do not fall into the self imposed remit of the blog in the main or includes tracks that felt out of place on the initial mix. So you are going to hear electronica, techno, pop, funk, post-punk, ambient and shimmering ethereal shoegaze.

Anything too listen out for label wise? I discovered the New York label Death Decay Magic in the middle of the year. It describes itself as providing “Synthesizer music for degenerates”. The four tracks here certainly encapsulates that description. The Bruxelles based label Alfa Matrix also has a significant presence here with it’s brand of underground electronica. They have their annual free sampler out now.

In short, a right “mixed” bunch and the perfect companion piece to the first mix. As ever enjoy!
