Continuing the series of posting albums and/or EPs as and when they are released (or usually a bit after!) as a follow up to the initial new tracks/singles posts posted on this blog. Sample the release via the You Tube track then dive in to the full release.

The Chesterfields – New Modern Homes

(Our Songbird Has Gone) “Musically the sound is an updated version of the music they made 30 odd years ago.”

(Mr Wilson Goes To Norway) “A video for the former has just been released and the song is catchy indiepop whilst the video is a humorous, high spirited affair.”

New Modern Homes is out now via Mr. Mellow’s Music.

The Crystal Furs – In Coastal Light

(California Misses You) “It’s another one of those melodic indiepop songs packed full of melancholy the band have perfected so well these past few years.”

In Coastal Light is out now via Reckless Yes.

Lilac- There’s Someone Else In My Skin

(Crystalline) “It’s a jangling dreampop track that at times sounds like a blend of two separate tracks thanks to the intense jangling guitars and vocal style. It should not work but it does and effectively so.”

Skatterbrain is a powerful track drawing from both alt-rock and dreampop territory. It gets a bit noisy in places but that’s tempered by apprehensive vocals.

There’s Someone Else In My Skin is out now via Shore Dive Records.
