Drag Me Down is the debut single from the Long Beach based Stillfilms. The band, who consist of Sophia Medina (vocals), Daniel Romero (guitar) and Zach Lehrich (drums), deliver a blend of dreampop that a few have compared to The Sundays. Personally I cannot hear that as their melodies (plus guitars!) are heavier than the delicate and ethereal moments of the aforementioned but Sophia Medina’s voice catches the ear in the same way Harriet Wheeler’s did albeit for different reasons. I would pitch the bands sound somewhere between their peers Holy Now and Soot Sprite which, I am sure you will agree, is a good place as any to start. I am looking forward to hearing more!
