English Summer – Ad Astra

Ad Astra is the parting shot from English Summer. Band founder Caleb Carr writes this about the song. “I held on to this track for a while, it was originally to be the last track for my shelved album The Wedding til it took a life of its own. Sue and I planned to release it only once English Summer was officially over. It’s a fitting ending song. Almost cinematic.”

Fitting ending indeed as it’s a poignant and atmospheric instrumental track.

Carr has been busy! He has just shot and edited a video for the song Thirty Miles by his band Arts & Letters. It’s taken from the debut album Asleep. The retro effects on the video really fit the sound of the track.

And that’s not all. I recently discovered another project (no, not The Guild) titled Garden. Everywhere is the debut single and it has that Bodines/Creation Records feel I associate with much of his work. It’s a great track. Sadly it’s not on Bandcamp and only seems to be available to purchase from Apple services.
