My attention was grabbed straight away at the beginning of this track with it’s Future Sound Of London/Deep Forest sampling meeting the Cocteau Twins vibe. The song then leads us down an ethereal shoegaze path with snippets of the aforementioned female vocal sample twisting around the swirling sounds. It’s pretty effective and certainly grabs the listeners attention. Please Don’t Wake Me, I’m Dreaming is a track with variety that supersedes the standard shoegazing template.
