Recommended Releases 25/05/2022

Continuing the series of posting albums and/or EPs as and when they are released (or usually a bit after!) as a follow up to the initial new tracks/singles posts posted on this blog. Sample the release via the You Tube track then dive in to the full release

Poster Paints – Blood Orange EP

“I was listening to the latest episode of Emma’s House when Stephan played a track that stopped me from what I was doing at the time. I have not done that since hearing John Peel play Safety Net by The Shop Assistants for the first time” (Number 1)

“Whilst not as immediately accessible as their debut single Number 1, Never Saw It Coming soon grows on you. The voice of Carla J Easton is very Harriet Wheeler like on this one.”

The Blood Orange EP, which is out via Ernest Jenning Record Co., can be purchased digitally from here.

Crabber – Greek Wine EP

“I have mentioned Hamburg’s power poppers Crabber previously. Greek Wine is the title track of a new three track single that is due to be released on 02 May 2022. One of those tracks is a cover of Ed Ball’s Controversial Girlfriend. The track it’s self is a fine punky influenced pop song with some guitar noise and some harmonious vocals.”

The Greek Wine EP is out now on the Old Bad Habits Label in vinyl & digital formats.

Sea Lemon – Close Up

Fortune Teller, which is the second single from the Seattle based Sea Lemon, is dreamy pop resulting in a very pleasant listen. ”

(Turn Away) “Another day, another Sea Lemon track. Catchy indiepop from Seattle. Sounder than most. I will get me coat…….”

Close Up is out now digitally via Spirit Goth Records.
