Chocolate Chainsaw come from Peterborough and Jeannie Wakes Up is the debut single. And it’s not a bad place to start. The single that is, not Peterborough although I must visit the Oakham Brewery Tap room once again! The single itself is the sound of the early 1980s and what followed punk music – it’s a bit like the Monochrome Set meeting Beat Happening. Flip side Emily’s Fine is very Mary Chain like but minus the noisy guitars. I really like these two melodic and soft sounding songs although a bit of fuzz would not go amiss! A promising project.
